TRON Passes 400 Million Accounts, Nears $30 Trillion in Transfers

TRON has crossed 400 million total accounts, hitting the milestone on August 23, 2026. The network's cumulative transfer volume now sits above $29 trillion, closing in on $30 trillion, and it has processed more than 15.2 billion transactions since its mainnet went live in May 2018. The account count alone makes TRON one of the most widely used blockchains in crypto, and its growth rate has been accelerating.

The road to 400 million

TRON's account base took four years to hit its first 100 million, measured from the genesis block on June 25, 2018. From there, the pace picked up sharply. The network reached 200 million accounts on December 7, 2023, then 300 million on April 12, 2025. The jump from 300 million to 400 million took just over 16 months, a faster clip than any previous 100-million-account stretch.

That kind of adoption doesn't happen by accident. TRON's low fees and high throughput have made it a default settlement layer for stablecoin transfers, and the numbers bear that out. The network now hosts more than $94 billion in USDT, the largest circulating supply of the stablecoin anywhere. Its total value locked, which includes DeFi protocols built on the chain, has grown past $28 billion.

Stablecoin dominance and network effects

TRON's role as a stablecoin hub isn't a side project. The chain's total transaction count, 15.2 billion, is a direct reflection of how many daily payments and remittances settle on it. For many users, especially in markets where dollar access is limited, TRON is the only way to hold and move USDT. That makes the network's reliability a matter of practical importance, not just a stat on a dashboard.

The supply of USDT on TRON has grown from $10 billion in 2022 to over $94 billion now, a trend that shows no sign of reversing. As more exchanges and wallets default to TRON for USDT withdrawals, the network's share of stablecoin traffic keeps climbing.

Institutional doors open wider

TRON has also been making quiet moves beyond retail. It was added to the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index, a step that puts the network in front of institutional investors. TRON has also worked with Anchorage Digital, Securitize, and Bitnomial on custody, tokenization, and trading infrastructure. Those are the kind of partnerships that let pension funds and asset managers touch the chain without setting up their own nodes.

Founder Justin Sun has pushed the network toward mainstream integration since its genesis block. The original mainnet launched in May 2018, and Sun's early bet on stablecoin traffic has paid off in scale.

TRON now has to hold that scale. With transfer volume approaching $30 trillion, the network is on track to break that mark within weeks. Whether it can keep up its account growth rate, though, is a different question. The next 100 million accounts will come faster than the last one, but at 400 million, the base is already deep.
