The TRUMP coin has lost roughly 97% of its value since peaking at $74 in January 2025, now trading around $2.21. This week, the project is pushing a leaderboard contest that dangles a three-day VIP experience — including luxury suite tickets to the 2026 World Cup final — for the top 19 holders. But updated legal disclosures make clear that the entities behind the token may sell or transfer coins during the campaign.
The VIP World Cup contest
From May 12 to July 1, 2025, the TRUMP coin project ran a leaderboard competition. The top 19 holders win a package that includes suite tickets to the World Cup final on July 19, 2026. Winners also get a 20% discount on Trump-branded merchandise and commemorative gift bags. The contest is not affiliated with or endorsed by FIFA or World Cup organizers, as stated in the fine print.
What the fine print says
Legal disclosures explicitly state that affiliated entities — Fight Fight Fight LLC, CIC Digital LLC, and their affiliates — may sell, transfer, or dispose of TRUMP tokens during the marketing campaign. The terms warn users not to buy the token expecting the promotion to boost or sustain its price. They also say TRUMP is not intended as an investment opportunity or security. The token is not distributed or sold by Donald J. Trump, the Trump Organization, or their affiliates; Trump's name and likeness are used under a limited license.
Insiders moved millions in tokens
Blockchain analyst Ember CN reported that project operators transferred roughly 7 million TRUMP tokens — valued at nearly $20 million at the time — into centralized exchanges earlier in May 2025. Such moves often signal an intent to sell. The token has shed more than 54% of its value since the start of 2025, according to CryptoSlate data, though the drop from the all-time high is far steeper.
Over $1 billion in crypto ventures
An investigation by Reuters found that entities tied to the Trump family have raised more than $1 billion from cryptocurrency ventures and digital asset sales. That includes at least $336 million from the TRUMP coin alone. The token's contest winners are now waiting for the July 19 World Cup final, while the coin itself keeps trading far below its peak.
