Eric Trump on Tuesday unveiled the official logo for the renamed Donald J. Trump International Airport in Palm Beach, Florida. The reveal, posted online, triggered a quick rally in Trump-themed cryptocurrencies: Official Trump (TRUMP) gained 3.75%, MAGA (TRUMP) rose 3.29%, and TrumpCoin (DJT) added 1.1%.
The logo reveal
Eric Trump posted the new crest — a stylized eagle over a globe with the airport's new name — on social media. The design comes ahead of the July 1, 2026 effective date for the name change, which Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law back in February. About $5.5 million has been earmarked for new signage and rebranding work at what is currently Palm Beach International Airport (PBI).
The crypto reaction
Tuesday's gains were modest but noticeable in a market that has largely cooled on political meme coins. Official Trump (TRUMP) now has a market cap above $558 million, though that's a far cry from its launch peak of $73.43 — it's down 96% from that high. TrumpCoin (DJT) is trading more than 99% below its 2024 high, with a market value near $647,000 and thin daily volume. MAGA (TRUMP) sits between them in scale. The moves suggest the token holders still treat branding events as catalysts, even if the overall hype has faded.
The name change itself is law, but the airport's IATA code is a separate fight. A federal bill is needed before the International Air Transport Association can swap PBI for DJT — that's the three-letter code Donald Trump's supporters have pushed for. Trademark filings linked to the Trump Organization were submitted ahead of DeSantis signing the bill, signaling the family has been planning the rebrand for months.
Political catalysts for meme coins
This isn't the first time Trump-linked tokens have jumped on political news. They've previously reacted to presidential remarks and a Mar-a-Lago summit for top holders. The next concrete date on the calendar is July 1, 2026, when the name change formally takes effect. Whether that triggers another rally — or even the code swap — remains an open question. For now, the logo is out, the tokens are up, and the airport signs are getting ordered.
