SpaceX pulled off the largest IPO in history this June, pricing at $135 and closing its first session near $161. The stock later spiked to roughly $225 before settling back. Now a tokenized version — SPCXON — is live on WEEX spot, letting non-US traders get a piece of the action without a US brokerage account.
How SPCXON works
SPCXON is built on Ondo's framework. It's designed to mirror SpaceX's economics for traders outside the US. The token has a mint and redeem mechanism, and any dividends SpaceX pays get reinvested into the product. But holders don't receive shares, voting rights, or direct dividends. It's exposure, not ownership.
The token trades as SPCXON/USDT on WEEX, settled in USDT. It's available during US market hours — which makes sense given the underlying stock trades on US exchanges.
Trading on WEEX
WEEX launched SPCXON alongside other tokenized equities: MicroStrategy (MSTRON) and Micron (MUON). All three sit in a single unified account. The exchange is also running a TradFi Challenge with a $50,000 reward pool across its tokenized equity lineup.
One thing to watch: SPCXON can trade at a premium or discount to its net asset value. That happens when liquidity thins or when the underlying stock gaps at the open. The gap between the token price and the real stock price could widen during volatile sessions.
WEEX itself is no small operation. Founded in 2018, it now has over 6.2 million users across 150-plus countries, more than 1,200 spot trading pairs, and up to 400x leverage in crypto futures. It also maintains a 1,000 BTC Protection Fund.
The supply question
SpaceX has an unusually thin public float. An insider unlock tied to its first quarterly report — due this summer — could act as a supply shock. If a wave of shares hits the market, the tokenized product could see its NAV swing accordingly. The timing isn't great for anyone holding SPCXON at a premium.
What SPCXON holders get
Again: no shares, no voting rights, no direct dividends. The token is a synthetic exposure product. For traders who can't buy SpaceX stock directly — or who want to trade it in a crypto-style account — it's a workaround. But it's not the same as owning the real thing.
The first quarterly report and the insider unlock are the next concrete events to watch. That's when the thin float meets the market.
