Wyoming Expands Chainlink Partnership for FRNT Reserve Verification

Wyoming Expands Chainlink Partnership for FRNT Reserve Verification

Wyoming's Stable Token Commission has expanded its partnership with Chainlink, adding onchain reserve verification for its FRNT token. The move comes a month after the commission fully migrated FRNT from LayerZero to Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) following a security review.

Why the migration happened

The commission completed the switch to Chainlink's CCIP last month. The decision followed a security review that led the state body to move away from LayerZero. The commission has not disclosed the specific findings of that review, but the migration was carried out in full, with FRNT now running on Chainlink's infrastructure.

That review and migration set the stage for this week's expansion. The commission is now using Chainlink for more than just cross-chain messaging. It's adding a layer of onchain reserve verification, which means the reserves backing FRNT can be checked directly on the blockchain.

What the new verification does

Onchain reserve verification is a transparency tool. It lets anyone look at the blockchain and confirm that the assets backing FRNT are actually there. For a token issued by a state commission, that kind of public check matters. It gives holders and regulators a way to see that the token is properly collateralized without having to trust a central report.

The commission didn't say exactly how the verification will be displayed or how often it will update. But the integration is live, and it's part of the same Chainlink system that now handles FRNT's cross-chain transfers.

A deepening relationship

This isn't the first time Wyoming has worked with Chainlink. The partnership has been building for a while, and the migration last month was a major step. Now, with reserve verification added, the commission is leaning even more heavily on Chainlink's tools.

The choice to expand after the security review suggests the commission is comfortable with Chainlink's setup. It also signals that the state is serious about making FRNT's operations as transparent as possible.

The commission has not announced any further steps beyond this expansion. Whether it will extend the integration to other parts of the token's operation remains an open question.
