XRP Extends Losses, Trades Below $1.44 as Technicals Turn Bearish

XRP’s price slide deepened Thursday, with the token falling below $1.44 and sitting under its 100-hour moving average. The digital asset hit a low of $1.4109 before stabilizing, but traders are watching for further downside as technical indicators flash red.

Why XRP is falling

The recent drop pushed XRP under the $1.45 threshold and then the $1.4350 mark, both levels that had offered some support in previous sessions. A bearish trend line has formed on the hourly chart, with resistance now sitting at $1.4520. That line, combined with a lack of buying momentum, has kept sellers in control.

The MACD — a momentum indicator — is gaining pace in bearish territory, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) has slipped below 50, signaling that selling pressure is building rather than fading.

Key price levels to watch

If XRP attempts a recovery, it faces immediate resistance near $1.4330. Beyond that, the first major hurdle is $1.440, followed by $1.4460. That second level also coincides with the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement of the recent decline. A close above $1.4460 could open the door to a run toward $1.4880.

On the downside, initial support sits at $1.4180. A break below that would put $1.4120 in play — roughly the area of the latest low. If $1.4120 gives way, the next targets are $1.4050 and then the $1.40 zone. A more severe sell-off could drag XRP down to $1.320.

Technical indicators flash bearish

The hourly chart shows XRP consolidating after touching $1.4109, but the consolidation has done little to improve the technical setup. The moving average convergence divergence (MACD) line is trending lower below the signal line, and the RSI remains in negative territory. Both suggest the path of least resistance is still downward.

Traders are now watching whether the $1.4120 support holds. If it doesn’t, selling could accelerate. If it does, the token might grind sideways before making another attempt at $1.4460.
