XRP is struggling to shake off a bearish grip, with the token trading below a descending resistance trendline and major moving averages. Sellers have maintained control, pushing the price toward a critical support zone that has so far prevented a steeper slide.
Support zone under repeated test
The $1.01 to $1.04 area has acted as a floor for XRP in recent weeks, absorbing selling pressure each time the price dipped. But that floor is getting worn. On the 4-hour chart, the token has been printing lower highs and lower lows, a classic sign that bears are in charge. A recent rejection near $1.09 was followed by another decline back toward that $1.01–$1.04 demand zone.
If that support breaks decisively, the next major level sits around $0.89. A drop to that area would represent a significant acceleration of the current downtrend.
Resistance levels that matter
On the upside, XRP faces a wall of resistance between $1.24 and $1.29. That range, combined with the descending trendline that has capped every rally since the sell-off began, means any recovery attempt will need serious buying power. As long as the token stays below that zone and the trendline, the outlook remains tilted toward further weakness.
Buyers haven't been able to reclaim the trendline, and until they do, a meaningful move toward $1.24–$1.29 isn't realistic. The price is stuck in a tightening range, and the longer it lingers, the more pressure builds for a breakout — one way or the other.
What traders are watching now
The immediate question is whether the $1.01–$1.04 support holds. Each test risks weakening it further. If sellers manage to push through, the path to $0.89 opens up. If buyers step in and defend that zone, the token could attempt another run at the descending trendline. But that trendline has been a stubborn barrier, and reclaiming it is the first real step toward any bullish reversal.
For now, the data points to continued selling pressure. The moving averages are sloping lower, and the price hasn't shown the kind of momentum needed to flip the structure. The next few trading sessions will likely determine whether XRP finds a bottom or heads lower.
