Zoomex made a visible play for Southeast Asian traders this week, showing up as a Gold Sponsor at Coinfest Asia 2026 and hosting its own beachside event in Bali. The exchange's 'Zoomex Summer Bay Party: Trade the Tide' ran on August 20 at Tropical Temptation Beach Club, the same day the two-day conference kicked off at Melasti Beach.
Roundtable on trust and speed
The centerpiece was a Mini Roundtable called 'Trading the Next Tide: Trust, Speed and the Next Wave of SEA Adoption.' Zoomex's Marketing Director, Fernando Lillo, joined Indonesian crypto educator Michael Wyann and trader Andy Tjoeng on the panel. The conversation circled around what it takes to win over users in a region where mobile-first trading is the norm.
Lillo's point was straightforward: users want simpler operations, transparent balance details, and fair access to earnings. That's not a niche ask. It's the kind of baseline expectation that separates exchanges people stick with from ones they abandon after a bad withdrawal experience.
Brand message on display
Zoomex's tagline — 'Easy to Use. Transparent balance. Fair access to your earnings.' — wasn't just a poster on the wall. The company built the entire side event around it. The programming mixed local culture with networking: a traditional Indonesian Water Drum performance, a Balinese fire dance, a group toast, and a DJ After Party to close things out.
The entertainment had a purpose. The 'Pass-the-Flag' interactive challenge gave attendees a shot at signed footballs from Emiliano Martínez, Zoomex's Global Brand Ambassador, who sent a video message to the crowd. There were also signed merchandise items from the TGR Haas F1 Team, the racing outfit for which Zoomex serves as the Official Cryptocurrency Exchange Partner.
Why Southeast Asia matters
Zoomex isn't a small player. Founded in 2021, the exchange says it serves over 3 million users across 35+ countries and lists more than 700 trading pairs. But the Southeast Asian market is crowded, and standing out requires more than just a decent app.
The Bali event was a deliberate signal. By pairing a conference sponsorship with a branded party and athlete tie-ins, Zoomex is trying to build a lifestyle identity around its platform — not just a trading interface. Whether that resonates with the region's traders is the open question, but the company is clearly spending to find out.
