Fiorentina and Bologna Eye Burnley Winger Luca Koleosho for Serie A Move

Two Italian clubs are circling Burnley winger Luca Koleosho ahead of the summer transfer window. Fiorentina and Bologna have both expressed interest in the 20-year-old, who joined Burnley from Espanyol last summer and has been a regular in the Championship this season.

Why the interest

Koleosho, who was born in the United States but has represented Italy at youth level, has impressed with his pace and dribbling ability on the left flank. He made 17 appearances for Burnley in the Championship before suffering a knee injury in December. Despite the setback, his performances earlier in the campaign caught the attention of Serie A scouts.

Fiorentina are looking to strengthen their attacking options after a mixed season that has left them in mid-table. Bologna, meanwhile, are pushing for a European spot and see Koleosho as a versatile winger who could add depth to their squad.

What Burnley might do

Burnley signed Koleosho for a reported €3 million from Espanyol, and he still has three years left on his contract. The Championship club, currently pushing for promotion back to the Premier League under Vincent Kompany, may not be eager to sell. But a significant offer from Serie A could test their resolve.

Koleosho's dual nationality – he also holds a Canadian passport – means he would not require a non-EU slot in Serie A, making him an even more attractive target for Italian clubs.

What comes next

The transfer window opens in June. Fiorentina and Bologna are expected to make formal approaches in the coming weeks. Whether Burnley will entertain offers before the end of the season remains an open question.
