L&C Bio Surges 12% on Plan for Human-Fat Injection to Treat 'Ozempic Face'

L&C Bio's stock jumped nearly 12% on Monday after the company unveiled plans for a human-fat injection aimed at reversing the facial volume loss tied to popular GLP-1 drugs. The product, tentatively named MegaAdipoECM, uses donated human fat processed into an extracellular matrix scaffold that patients' own fat cells then repopulate.

Stock surge and market metrics

The stock hit 64,600 won intraday, a gain of 11.76%. Over five days the shares have climbed roughly 24%. L&C Bio now carries a market capitalization of 1.578 trillion won, with 366,542 shares changing hands. The one-year price target sits at 99,000 won, well above the 52-week range of 29,100 to 125,000 won.

Why the product is possible now

South Korea reclassified donated fat from medical waste to a usable material in 2026. A one-year grace period means commercial launch won't happen until late 2027. L&C Bio holds patents for the technology in South Korea, the United States, and China. CEO Lee Whan Chul stated the company pioneered the use of donated human tissue in K-beauty skin boosters.

Market potential beyond aesthetics

J.P. Morgan Research projects the U.S. patient base for GLP-1 drugs will grow from 12.9 million in 2026 to 30.3 million by 2030. That expanding pool of users — many of whom experience facial fat loss — creates a direct market for MegaAdipoECM. The company also sees the product as an alternative to silicone breast implants.

The commercial launch is still more than a year away, pending the grace period. Investors will be watching for regulatory steps and clinical data.
