Alberta to Hold Nonbinding Referendum on Independence From Canada

Bitcoin

We are in a macro regime where BTC dominance is high (~1.66T / 2.76T = ~60%) and altcoins are underperforming; political fragmentation in resource-rich regions (Alberta oil sands) can feed into energy price volatility and CAD weakness, which historically has a weak, indirect correlation with BTC as a non-sovereign hedge. The event also highlights rising global political entropy—a theme that supports hard-asset narratives over the long term.

Alberta holds a referendum asking voters whether the province should remain in Canada or hold a second binding independence referendum.
