Crypto markets are currently driven by macro factors like Fed policy and ETF flows, not regional natural disasters. The event is unlikely to alter the prevailing slightly bullish sentiment, especially with Fear & Greed at 71 (Greed). However, any unexpected escalation (e.g., prolonged airport closures affecting logistics) could add to global risk-off pressure, though this is a low-probability tail risk.

Indonesia shut airports as Anak Krakatau volcano erupted, causing cancellations and delays that stranded over 170,000 passengers.

Indonesia's move aligns with a global trend where emerging markets use commodity crises to expand state oversight, as seen in Nigeria's bitcoin restrictions during forex shortages. This event exposes how commodity volatility in EMEs (emerging market economies) acts as a catalyst for crypto crackdowns when governments seek to protect domestic price stability, especially when Fear & Greed hits 10 (Extreme Fear).
