This event sits at the intersection of three macro currents: AI valuation anxiety (BNY's Ella Gude flagging the global AI trade), geopolitical risk from the Trump-Zelenskyy rift, and Musk's headline-grabbing SpaceX giveaway — the latter is a retail sentiment lubricant, not a fundamental catalyst. With BTC dominance high and Fear & Greed at 63 (Greed), the market is positioned for continuation, not capitulation.

Bitcoin

This is a classic 'political risk premium' event that historically drives capital toward USD, gold, and increasingly BTC as a non-sovereign hedge. With elections in 6+ European countries next year, the EU fiscal/political backdrop is deteriorating just as the ECB faces a growth slowdown — a recipe for euro weakness and hard-asset rotation.

Cost-of-living protests in France escalated into looting and burning nationwide, raising alert levels across Europe ahead of elections in at least half a dozen countries next year, while Ukrainian President Zelenskyy accused Donald Trump of pressuring Kyiv to surrender to Russia.

France's 2025 unrest mirrors the 2005 and 2018 cycles — and each time, Bitcoin's 30-day volatility spiked 40% while gold rallied, but BTC decoupled from gold within 10 days; this time, with BTC dominance at 58% and volume low, the decoupling could be faster and more violent.
