Amazon's October Prime Day Cuts DJI Drone Prices, but the Real Discount Is on a $759 Power Station

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days doesn't officially start until October 6, but DJI and a handful of rival drone makers have already pushed discounts live. The DJI Neo Fly More Combo is down to $295 from $349, the Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo is $549 instead of $629, and the DJI Mic 3 is $259 versus $329.

Those are ordinary retail markdowns. The one worth a second look is the DJI Power 2000 V2, listed at $759.99, down from $1,299. That's a $539 drop on a high-capacity portable power station.

What's actually on sale

The spread of discounts is wide. The base DJI Neo drone is $169, a $30 cut. Skyrover's X1 is $449, down from $619. Ruko's camera drone is $239.97, roughly $60 off. Potensic's Atom 2 drops $40 to $319.99. The Antigravity A1 Infinity Bundle carries the steepest absolute discount at $507.25 off, priced at $1,521.74 from $2,028.99.

For buyers comparing specs, a few details matter. The Neo is rated for up to 18 minutes of flight per charge and records 4K UHD. Its listed weight is inconsistent across sources — one says 135 grams, another says under 249 grams. That's not a trivial discrepancy. The 249-gram line is the threshold at which FAA registration kicks in for recreational flyers.

The Osmo Pocket 3 packs a 1-inch CMOS sensor and shoots 4K at 120fps. The Mic 3 handles up to four transmitters and runs about 28 hours with its charging case. Skyrover claims up to 96 minutes of flight time across three included batteries; Ruko claims roughly the same runtime per charge. The Potensic Atom 2 weighs exactly 249 grams and uses a half-inch Sony sensor.

The power station is the interesting one

A $759 power station isn't a drone accessory in any meaningful sense. It's a battery bank. And battery banks are the kind of thing that gets bought by people running small-scale Bitcoin mining rigs at home, where cheap power storage and uninterrupted runtime matter more than camera payload.

That's the under-discussed angle here. Deep discounts on high-capacity power hardware lower the entry cost for retail miners building out garage operations. It's a marginal effect — a few hundred hobbyists won't move global hashrate in any dramatic way — but it's a more concrete linkage to crypto markets than anything else in this sale.

Bitcoin itself is trading around $83,550 and hasn't reacted to any of this. It wouldn't. There's no mechanism by which a drone promotion moves BTC price action, and the Fear & Greed index sitting at 74 (Greed) has everything to do with ETF flows and macro positioning, nothing to do with Amazon's electronics aisle.

Timing and what to watch

The formal Prime Big Deal Days event begins October 6. That's when the broader sale inventory goes live and when the remaining discount tiers, including the Holy Stone lineup and several DJI accessories, are expected to settle. If you're specifically waiting on the Power 2000 V2, the current $759.99 price is already live — there's no indication yet whether it drops further once the event officially opens.

The unresolved question is the Neo's weight. If it's actually 135 grams, it stays under the FAA registration threshold regardless. If it's closer to 249 grams, buyers are sitting right on the line. DJI's own listings don't resolve it cleanly, and the discrepancy has been there since launch.
