That's almost word-for-word the story of Atrocitus, whose sector was destroyed by the Manhunters. In the comics, that loss pushes Atrocitus to become the first Red Lantern and lead the Red Lantern Corps.
But there are a few wrinkles. Antaan's name is different, and he's got more than four fellow survivors — which doesn't match Atrocitus's comic history. That leaves room for the show to go its own way, but it also feels too close to be an accident.
