Manus Introduces Preferred Browser for Custom Automation

Manus, the automation platform, has launched a new feature called Preferred Browser that lets users integrate a custom browser into their workflows. The tool comes pre-configured with sign-ins, extensions, and network access, allowing automated tasks to run without repeated manual setup.

What Preferred Browser Does

Preferred Browser is designed for users who need to automate repetitive browser-based actions like data entry, form filling, or web scraping. Instead of configuring a fresh browser session each time a task runs, users can set up one browser with all the credentials, add-ons, and network settings they need. The browser then executes automation scripts using that environment, cutting down on friction.

Pre-configured Sign-ins and Extensions

The feature stores login details for websites and services, so the browser can authenticate automatically when an automation task requires access. Users can also install browser extensions that are part of their workflow — like ad blockers, form fillers, or developer tools — and have them ready from the first launch. This eliminates the need to log in repeatedly or reinstall extensions for each new task.

Network Access Customization

Preferred Browser allows users to define network settings such as proxy servers or VPN connections. This is useful for tasks that must appear to originate from a specific location or that need to bypass regional restrictions. The network configuration is saved as part of the browser profile, so every automated session uses the same connection parameters.

Integration with the Manus Platform

The browser integrates directly into Manus’s existing automation system. Users can assign tasks to the Preferred Browser and have them run in the background while they work on other things. The company says the feature reduces the amount of scripting and manual intervention typically required for browser automation, making it accessible to users who aren't developers.

Manus has begun rolling out Preferred Browser to all accounts. The feature is available immediately for existing users, with no additional charge.
