Meta has launched a new app called Forum, designed to facilitate deeper group discussions. The application is now available for download on iOS and Android, offering a space for topic-based communities with threaded conversations.
What Forum Offers
Forum centers on specific interests, stripping away the algorithmic feeds common on Facebook and Instagram. Users can create or join groups, post messages, and reply in threads. The interface is minimalist, focusing on text and images rather than video or live streaming.
Meta's Latest Standalone App
The launch adds to Meta's portfolio of experimental apps. The company has not provided details on how Forum will integrate with its existing platforms or whether it will include advertising from the start. Currently, the app does not show ads.
Forum requires a Meta account to participate but does not need a Facebook account. Meta has not shared usage numbers or monetization plans.
The app is available now for iOS and Android.
