TAIPEI — MiTAC pulled the wraps off a liquid-cooled 52U rack at COMPUTEX 2026 that packs 96 AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs. The company says the design delivers 50% higher GPU density than typical AI server configurations.
What the rack holds
The rack uses direct-to-chip liquid cooling to keep the 96 GPUs within operating temperatures. MiTAC didn't disclose power consumption figures, but the MI355X is AMD's latest accelerator for large-scale AI training and inference. By squeezing more GPUs into a standard 52U form factor, the rack aims to cut floor space and simplify cabling for data center operators.
Why density matters
Higher GPU density means more compute per square foot, which can lower total cost of ownership for hyperscalers and enterprise AI shops. Liquid cooling is becoming a must for racks that exceed 40 kW, and MiTAC's design appears to target that threshold. The company didn't say when the rack will ship or what it will cost.
COMPUTEX debut
MiTAC showed the rack alongside other server and cooling products at its booth during the Taipei trade show. The company has been a longtime ODM partner for major server brands and is now pushing its own branded solutions for the AI market.
No pricing or availability was announced. MiTAC said it will share more details with potential customers in private briefings after the show.
