Why 4nm is the sweet spot

The 4nm node sits at a critical intersection of performance and power efficiency. AI accelerators, from data-center GPUs to edge inference chips, rely on the density and speed that 4nm offers. Automakers, meanwhile, are packing more processing power into vehicles for advanced driver-assistance systems and infotainment. Both industries are racing to lock in capacity years ahead.

Samsung's foundry business has been investing heavily in its 4nm process, aiming to close the gap with market leader TSMC. The full booking through 2027 signals that customers see Samsung as a viable long-term partner, not just a backup option.

What the sell-out means for the chip market
