Aevo Brings PERPS+ to Mobile, Lets Traders Set Protection on BTC and ETH Perps

Aevo has launched PERPS+ on its mobile app, giving traders the ability to set protection — a loss limit, a profit ceiling, or both — on perpetual futures positions with a single tap. The feature, now live for BTC and ETH perps, brings the full desktop experience to mobile for the first time. Aevo says PERPS+ requires no options knowledge, aiming to simplify risk management for a broader audience.

What PERPS+ actually does

PERPS+ lets a trader define a maximum loss or a target profit — or both — on a perp position. Once the price hits either boundary, the system automatically closes the trade. No options contracts, no Greeks, no strike prices. Just a tap to set the guardrails. The feature is currently limited to Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual futures, though the exchange could expand it later.

Mobile parity after years of desktop dominance

Aevo has been a desktop-first platform since it launched in 2020, processing over $10 billion in options volume. The exchange runs on a custom Ethereum layer-2 that handles off-chain order matching while settling trades on-chain. The mobile app, available on the App Store and Google Play, now matches the desktop feature set — at least for perps. One catch: the app is not available to users in the U.S. or the U.K.

Tokenomics and the buyback machine

The AEVO token is fully distributed with no future unlocks, a rarity in crypto. Exchange revenue funds a monthly buyback and burn that has already removed 74 million AEVO from circulation. Stakers earn monthly Uniswap V3 LP positions in the AEVO/USDC pool, collecting swap fees. Meanwhile, aeUSD — the platform’s yield-bearing trading collateral — has been live for over two years and continues to earn yield even when positions are flat.

Most decentralized perp platforms offer stop-losses and take-profits, but they often require setting limit orders or scripting. PERPS+ collapses that into a single interaction. For retail traders who find options intimidating, it’s a way to cap downside without learning a new product. The timing also lines up with a broader push by Aevo to grow its mobile user base — the app launched last year, but PERPS+ is the first major feature to reach parity with the web version.

The exchange hasn’t said when PERPS+ might expand to more assets or whether it will eventually support options-style payoffs beyond simple boundaries. For now, it’s BTC and ETH only, and only outside the U.S. and U.K.
