AI Tokens PUMP, KAITO Lead Weekly Gains as FET, LDO Lag

The crypto market's weekly winners and losers list is out, and the AI narrative is once again the main story. Tokens PUMP and KAITO posted double-digit gains over the past seven days, while FET and LDO slid into the red. The divergence shows that even within the same thematic bucket, investors are getting picky.

PUMP and KAITO lead the AI pack

PUMP was the standout this week, climbing roughly 35% as traders piled into the token following a series of product updates. KAITO wasn't far behind, adding about 28% as its ecosystem announced a new partnership with a decentralized compute network. Both tokens have been riding the broader AI narrative that's dominated crypto discussions this month.

The timing isn't great for FET and LDO. FET dropped around 12% this week, while LDO shed roughly 8%. Neither project reported any negative news — the moves appear to be profit-taking and rotation out of older AI plays into newer ones. LDO, despite being a liquid staking token, has been caught in the AI narrative because of its role in Ethereum staking infrastructure, which some traders see as AI-adjacent.

What's driving the split

The divergence comes down to narrative freshness. PUMP and KAITO are relatively new to the AI conversation, with recent launches or upgrades that give traders something to speculate on. FET and LDO have been around longer and have already seen big runs earlier in the year. The market is rotating capital into the next wave of AI tokens.

Volume data backs that up. PUMP's daily trading volume more than doubled this week, while KAITO's hit a three-month high. FET and LDO saw volume decline even as prices fell, suggesting less urgency to sell — but also less buying interest.

The AI token sector has been one of the few bright spots in a choppy market. But the rotation within the sector shows that the narrative alone isn't enough to lift all boats. Projects need to deliver concrete updates or partnerships to keep momentum.

For PUMP and KAITO, the next test will be whether they can hold those gains into next week. For FET and LDO, the question is whether the selloff is a dip worth buying or the start of a longer correction. Neither camp has a clear answer yet.
