Bitcoin and XRP ETFs Draw $32M as Whale Activity Keeps Climbing

Bitcoin and XRP exchange-traded funds were the only crypto ETFs to pull in fresh money this week, netting a combined $32 million in inflows. The data, covering the period through July 31, shows investors are picking their spots — and leaving the rest of the ETF lineup flat. At the same time, whale activity — large-value transactions typically tied to institutions or high-net-worth players — kept climbing, suggesting big money hasn't stepped away from the market.

Bitcoin and XRP ETFs lead inflows

The $32 million total came entirely from Bitcoin and XRP funds. Every other crypto ETF — including those tracking Ethereum, Solana, and broader indexes — recorded zero net inflows or outflows for the week. That's a narrow vote of confidence. Bitcoin ETFs have been the dominant draw for most of 2026, but XRP's inclusion in the inflow column is notable. The token has been fighting an uphill battle with regulators, yet ETF investors are still willing to put capital to work.

Whale activity keeps rising

Large-value transactions — transfers worth $100,000 or more — continued their upward march during the same period. The trend has been building for months, and this week's data shows no sign of a slowdown. Whale activity is often read as a proxy for institutional engagement, and the steady climb suggests that big players are either accumulating or repositioning. It's not a flashy headline, but it's the kind of underlying signal traders watch closely.

What the numbers don't say

The $32 million figure is modest by historical standards — some weeks this year have seen triple-digit inflows. But the fact that only two products are drawing capital while whale activity rises paints a mixed picture. Retail ETF demand is narrow; institutional on-chain activity is broad. That disconnect could mean institutions are using direct custody or OTC desks rather than ETFs, or it could mean the ETF market is still maturing. Either way, the data doesn't offer a clean narrative.

The next weekly flow report, due out August 7, will show whether the Bitcoin-XRP trend holds or if other ETFs finally break their dry spell.
