Spot bitcoin ETFs closed a third consecutive week in the green, extending an inflow streak that has held through the start of October. The same week, ether ETFs shed $138 million, and zcash funds logged their first weekly outflow.
The split is the story. Money keeps moving into the largest crypto asset through the ETF wrapper while the second-largest sits on the wrong side of the ledger.
Three weeks, one direction
A third straight week of inflows isn't a one-day blip. It's a pattern. Buyers have shown up through the ETF channel week after week, and the funds have absorbed that demand without a break in the run.
That kind of persistence matters more than any single session's print. Sustained flows suggest allocators are treating bitcoin exposure as a position to build, not a trade to flip.
Ether's $138 million week
Ether ETFs went the other way, bleeding $138 million over the week. It's a clean contrast with the bitcoin products sitting right next to them on the same desks.
The two largest crypto assets have been pulling in different directions through the ETF complex, and this week didn't narrow the gap. Ether funds gave back ground while bitcoin funds added.
Zcash's streak ends
Zcash funds posted their first weekly outflow. After a stretch of attracting money, the privacy-coin products flipped to red.
One week doesn't make a trend, but it does break one. The zcash complex had been running hot enough that the reversal is worth flagging on its own.
What to watch
Next week's flow data will show whether bitcoin's streak stretches to four and whether ether's outflows persist or reverse. The zcash numbers will tell whether this was a pause or the end of the run.
For now, the scoreboard reads one way: bitcoin in, ether out, zcash flat-to-negative for the first time in its recent stretch.
