BTCC, the self-described world's longest-serving cryptocurrency exchange, has launched a refreshed Trust Center as it marks its 15th anniversary. The update bundles multi-signature cold storage, 1:1 asset storage, multi-layer risk monitoring, and 24/7 AML controls into a single public-facing hub. Alex Hung, Head of Operations, said the goal isn't to be the biggest exchange but to raise the standard.
What's actually in the Trust Center
The refreshed page lays out the exchange's security stack in plain terms. Multi-signature cold storage means no single key can move user funds. The 1:1 asset storage claim is backed by monthly Proof of Reserves reporting, which BTCC says has shown a total reserve ratio of 100% at all times. On top of that, the company points to a $25.5 million Risk Reserve Fund as a buffer against market disruptions.
Independent audits are handled by CertiK, with additional support from Chainalysis, Forter, and SEON. And the headline number: BTCC says it has recorded $0 in hacker theft since it was founded in 2011. That's a 15-year clean sheet, which is not nothing in an industry where exchange breaches have been a recurring feature.
The 0-Barrier Trading theme
BTCC is folding the Trust Center into a broader marketing push it calls 0-Barrier Trading. The theme has four pillars: 0 Fees, which covers zero trading fees across 380+ pairs every week; 0 Distance, meaning 24/7 localized support in traders' native languages; 0 Friction, pointing to copy trading and TradingView integration; and 0 Panic, which is where the security and reserve claims live.
It's a tidy bit of branding, and the 0 Panic label is doing a lot of work here. The exchange isn't just listing features — it's trying to preempt the anxiety that tends to follow headlines about exchange failures elsewhere.
Beyond crypto: stocks, gold, and forex
The platform also offers US Stocks, Gold, Forex, Commodities, and more alongside its core crypto products. That's a wider net than a pure crypto exchange, and it suggests BTCC is chasing traders who want one account for multiple asset classes. The company says it serves over 12 million users across 100+ countries.
Football and conference circuits
BTCC is the official regional sponsor of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), a deal that keeps the brand in front of a massive sports audience. This week it's also a Platinum Sponsor of TOKEN2049 Singapore, one of the industry's larger conference gatherings. Hung's comments about not aiming to be the biggest exchange fit the understated tone of the announcement — no grand claims about market dominance, just a focus on operational standards.
For now, the refreshed Trust Center is live. The next test will be whether the monthly Proof of Reserves reports continue to show a 100% reserve ratio as market conditions shift, and whether the $0 hacker theft record holds through another year.
