Dogecoin is trading near its highest level in almost three months, up roughly 30% over the past seven days and just under $0.09. The run pushed its market cap toward $14 billion, keeping it the largest meme coin and stretching its lead over Shiba Inu.
The 30% weekly jump
The move marks one of the sharper swings for the token this summer. For the past few days, buyers have been willing to step in at prices that looked shaky a month ago, and the weekly chart shows a steady climb rather than a single spike.
Ali Martinez, a crypto analyst who posts regularly on X, flagged $0.0813 as the key resistance level to watch. That's the zone where more than 30 million DOGE previously changed hands. Martinez said a sustained close above that level could open the door to a move toward $0.177.
He's also pointing to whale accumulation as a bullish signal, along with a Tom DeMark Sequential buy signal on the daily chart. That's a technical indicator some traders use to spot trend exhaustion and possible reversals.
Where the bulls see it going
Other analysts are far more aggressive. MikybullCrypto predicted an "explosive move" that could take Dogecoin to $3. Vuori Trading suggested a rise to $10.
Those numbers are hard to square with basic math. At $10, Dogecoin's market cap would need to blow past $1.5 trillion. For context, that's more than the entire value of most of the largest companies in the world. It's not realistic, and the analysts who put those numbers out there are likely playing a momentum game rather than making a serious valuation case.
The $0.177 target is more grounded. It's roughly double where the coin traded this week and would still leave Dogecoin far below its all-time high from 2021.
The bears on the other side
Not everyone is convinced the rally holds. Recent exchange netflow data shows inflows outpacing outflows, which in plain terms means more coins moving onto trading platforms than leaving them. That tends to be a sign that holders are preparing to sell, and it raises the risk of a short-term pullback.
That's not a prediction, just a heads-up. The same data that shows accumulation can flip quickly if the price stalls.
A volatility signal
One analyst, The Great Mattsby, noted that Dogecoin's Bollinger Bands — a tool that measures how volatile a coin has been — have tightened significantly. The squeeze is a classic setup. It says the market has gone quiet after a big move, and a sharper move could be coming. The problem is the indicator doesn't say which way.
The question of does that leave the coin remains open. At its highest price in months, with a bullish technical picture and real selling pressure building underneath. The next few sessions will decide whether this was the start of something bigger or the top of a short squeeze.
