Eightco Holdings Backs World Foundation’s $52.5M Round, Holds 8% of WLD Supply

Eightco Holdings (NASDAQ: ORBS) has joined World Foundation’s latest $52.5 million funding round, a deal led by Pantera Capital and backed by Bain Capital Crypto, Selini Capital, Susquehanna Crypto, and others. The investment deepens Eightco’s bet on Worldcoin just as the project slashes daily token issuance by 43%.

Eightco’s $391M Treasury

As of July 26, Eightco’s treasury totals roughly $391 million. The breakdown: $142 million in cash and stablecoins, $90 million in indirect OpenAI equity, $18 million in Beast Industries equity, 16,278 ETH, and a massive 301,971,219 WLD — about 8% of Worldcoin’s circulating supply. That makes Eightco the largest publicly disclosed WLD holder globally.

The company frames its portfolio around three mega-trends: AI, digital identity, and the creator economy. OpenAI accounts for 23% of the treasury, Worldcoin for 28%, and Beast Industries for 5%.

Token Supply Tightens

On July 24, World’s token issuance schedule changed. Daily WLD entering circulation dropped from roughly 5.1 million to about 2.9 million — a 43% reduction. Eightco board member Tom Lee said the cut improves the net supply/demand balance and supports a better risk/reward for WLD prices. The timing matters: World Network now counts over 39 million members and more than 18 million humans verified by an Orb, with over 475 million World ID proofs used since launch.

AI Bets Beyond Worldcoin

Eightco’s OpenAI stake comes as the company filed a confidential S-1, setting up for a potential future IPO. OpenAI also launched a ChatGPT for small businesses program on July 21. ChatGPT crossed 900 million weekly active users in February 2026, making it the fastest-scaling consumer tech in history. Separately, Franklin Templeton published a white paper arguing that agentic AI will be the killer use case for blockchain, with blockchains facilitating machine-to-machine transactions.

OpenAI plans to build a data center in Georgia with 3.2 GW of power, delivered in phases from 2028 to 2032.

Grayscale Files for Worldcoin ETF

Grayscale has filed with the SEC to launch the first U.S. exchange-traded fund tied to Worldcoin. If approved, the ETF would give traditional investors direct exposure to WLD without holding the token themselves. The SEC has not yet set a decision deadline.

For Eightco, the combination of a tighter token supply, a potential ETF, and its own growing treasury positions the firm at the intersection of AI and crypto. The next concrete milestone to watch: the SEC’s response to Grayscale’s filing.
