Franklin Templeton, MoonPay Partner at Proof of Talk 2026; Euroclear Sets Q4 Tokenization Launch

Proof of Talk 2026 wrapped up last week at the Palais du Louvre, bringing together 2,500 senior decision-makers from digital assets, traditional finance, and AI. The two-day conference produced a flurry of concrete deals and timelines—chief among them a partnership between Franklin Templeton and MoonPay to broaden access to tokenized financial products, and a firm Q4 2026 launch date for Euroclear's Pythagore commercial paper project.

Franklin Templeton and MoonPay team up

Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson confirmed the partnership live from the stage. The deal aims to push tokenized funds beyond institutional walls—tying a $1.5 trillion asset manager with MoonPay's retail-facing infrastructure. Neither side disclosed specific products or launch dates, but Johnson framed it as a move to meet growing demand for on-chain investment options.

Tokenization numbers keep climbing

Citi's Global Head of Future of Finance, Ronit Ghose, presented the bank's GPS Tokenization 2030 report during the conference. It pegs the global tokenized investments market at $17 billion—a figure that's drawn attention from both regulators and traditional custodians. Euroclear followed up with a timeline: its Pythagore project, which targets Europe's €300 billion commercial paper market, is on schedule to go live in Q4 2026. That's a firm date for one of the largest tokenization pilots in European markets.

Institutional custody gets a sale—and a compliance tool

Zodia Custody's sale to a traditional finance entity—CEO Julian Sawyer confirmed the deal at Proof of Talk—was hailed as a milestone for institutional crypto custody. The buyer's name wasn't disclosed at the event, but Sawyer described the move as validation that crypto custody is now mainstream. Separately, Ampersend launched real-time pre-settlement compliance screening powered by TRM Labs. The tool lets institutional counterparties check wallets for sanctions or illicit activity before a trade settles, reducing reversal risk.

AI, stablecoins, and a pitch competition

The conference also leaned into decentralized AI. Bittensor co-founders Ala Shaabana and Jacob Steeves took part in discussions on how decentralized compute and AI models could intersect with crypto markets. A separate Stablecoin Roundtable gathered 50 executives from Aave, the Bank of England, BlackRock, Paxos, and Robinhood to hash out liquidity and interoperability standards. No concrete policy or agreement came out of it, but the mix of central bank and private-sector names signals seriousness. That evening, the BeInCrypto Institutional 100 Awards 2026 ceremony recognized top players. And the Proof of Pitch live crowdfunding competition named two winners: ReplyCorp (Jordan Feinstein) and Parthenon (Lindsey Girkin). Both walked away with funding commitments, though those amounts were not announced.

With Euroclear's Q4 mark now public and institutions like Citi putting $17 billion numbers on the table, tokenization is shifting from pilot phase to rollout. Next concrete milestone: the Pythagore commercial paper launch, expected before year-end.
