IG rolled out 50 new tokens this week across its UK crypto platform following formal FCA registration. The brokerage now offers over 100 digital assets with added swaps and advanced charting features. Wallet transfers remain on the roadmap for later this year.
How the FCA Approval Unlocked Expansion
IG’s expanded crypto trading came directly after securing Financial Conduct Authority registration. That green light cleared the path for the brokerage to significantly widen its digital asset roster. Previously limited to about 50 tokens, the platform now crosses the 100-asset threshold.
New Features Traders Can Use Now
The update includes crypto swaps and advanced charting tools alongside the 50 additional tokens. Traders accessing the platform immediately gained these tools without separate signups. IG confirmed the new features work within its existing trading interface.
Wallet Transfers Still in the Pipeline
Despite the current expansion, direct wallet transfers aren’t live yet. IG says this capability is planned but not implemented. The brokerage gave no specific timeline beyond confirming it’s part of future development. Traders must still use the platform’s internal system for moves.
