Kraken Adds USDT0 Deposit and Withdrawal Support on Tempo Network

Kraken Adds USDT0 Deposit and Withdrawal Support on Tempo Network

Kraken now supports deposits and withdrawals of USDT0 on the Tempo network. The update, announced without a specific timeline for a trading pair, lets users move the stablecoin directly between their exchange account and the Tempo blockchain. For anyone juggling funds across multiple chains, it's one less headache.

What USDT0 on Tempo means for users

USDT0 is part of a broader push to make stablecoins glide more easily across different networks. Liquidity fragmentation — money stuck on one chain when you need it on another — has been a persistent problem. By adding Tempo to its list of supported networks, Kraken gives users a fresh on-ramp for moving stablecoins on an emerging chain. The exchange already supports USDT transfers on more established rails like Ethereum, Tron, and Solana.

Tempo isn't as widely used as those older networks, so the integration matters for the ecosystem's growth. Users who hold USDT0 on Tempo can now send it to a Kraken wallet or withdraw from the exchange straight onto Tempo. That cuts out the usual roundabout of converting through a different network or paying middleman fees.

Why exchange integrations take time

Kraken doesn't flip a switch overnight. Before adding network support, the exchange runs through a checklist: wallet infrastructure, compliance checks, transaction monitoring, operational support, and risk controls all have to be in place. That's why news of a new network often arrives without a trading pair attached. The deposit-and-withdrawal step clears the path, but a spot trading pair is a separate decision.

Users shouldn't assume they can buy or sell USDT0 on Kraken just because deposits are live. The exchange could announce a trading pair later — or not at all. For now, the update is strictly about moving tokens in and out.

What this update doesn't include

No new spot trading pair has been listed. Kraken's announcement focused on transfer support, not on offering USDT0 as a market against Bitcoin, Ethereum, or the dollar. Anyone looking to trade the token will have to wait for a separate notice. The same goes for other network-specific features like staking or lending — none of that comes with the deposit-and-withdrawal rollout.

Kraken's move follows a pattern among major exchanges that prioritize infrastructure before trading. The goal is to let users bring funds onto the platform and take them off without friction, even if the exchange hasn't decided to list the asset for trading.

The integration is live now. Users can check their Kraken deposit page to see Tempo listed as an option for USDT0. Whether Kraken adds a trading pair later remains an open question — and one the exchange hasn't addressed yet.
