Mixero Launches Monero-Based Privacy Routing for Bitcoin and Ethereum Transactions

Mixero, a privacy-focused crypto service, has expanded its Advanced Mode to route Bitcoin and Ethereum through Monero before settlement. The feature lets users send BTC or ETH into Monero's privacy layer, then out to fresh receiving addresses — breaking the on-chain link between sender and recipient. It's a direct response to the growing problem of address clustering on Bitcoin and Ethereum block explorers, where transaction histories can tie wallets together.

How the Monero bridge works

The transaction path is straightforward: BTC→XMR→BTC or ETH→XMR→ETH. Users get the same cryptocurrency back after processing, but the Monero hop obfuscates the trail. Auto-generated wallets in Advanced Mode ensure the original deposit address has no connection to the final receiving address. Mixero handles the conversion internally, so the user doesn't need to manage Monero wallets themselves.

Why Monero's privacy tech matters

Monero's core privacy features — ring signatures, stealth addresses, and Ring Confidential Transactions — make it an effective privacy bridge for public blockchains. Ring signatures mix a user's spend key with decoy outputs, making it hard to pinpoint which one is real. Stealth addresses generate one-time destinations for each transaction. RingCT hides the amount being sent. Combined, they create a smoke screen that Bitcoin and Ethereum lack natively.

Ethereum's public transaction history is notoriously sticky. A single Etherscan visit can show every move a wallet has made. Mixero's Monero routing gives Ethereum users a cleaner privacy separation between sending and receiving wallets. That's useful for anyone who wants to keep trading activity or DeFi positions separate from a personal holding address.

Beyond the bridge

Mixero isn't stopping at Monero routing. The service also offers Tor access, Letters of Guarantee, and standard mixing for Bitcoin and Ethereum. The expanded Advanced Mode is live now — no timeline for further additions has been announced.
