Rarible's NFT marketplace is now live on Solana. The company announced the launch Thursday, with the Claynosaurz collection as its first featured drop. Solana joins Ethereum, MegaETH, and Base as supported networks on the platform.
Claynosaurz leads the launch
The Claynosaurz drop opens the Solana marketplace. It's the first collection featured on the new network, and it gives collectors something concrete to look at from day one. The dinosaur-themed NFT set has its own dedicated space on the platform.
Rarible hasn't said whether more drops are lined up behind it. But the Claynosaurz placement suggests the team is leaning into established Solana projects rather than starting from scratch.
Solana joins the roster
Solana is now the fourth network Rarible supports, sitting alongside Ethereum, MegaETH, and Base. That's a meaningful expansion for a marketplace that spent years primarily known as an Ethereum shop.
Solana brings its own tradeoffs. Transaction costs are lower than Ethereum's, and the network has kept a loyal NFT audience even as the broader market cooled. For Rarible, adding Solana means tapping into that base without forcing users to bridge assets or leave their preferred chain.
New tools for Solana collectors
The Solana marketplace ships with dedicated Explore, Mint, and Gacha pages. Those aren't just reskins of the existing tabs — they're built specifically for the Solana experience, with the Gacha page handling randomized drops, which have become a staple on that chain.
The Mint page is the part worth watching. Direct minting on Solana opens the door for creators who want to launch without jumping through Ethereum's gas-heavy process. Whether that brings new projects to Rarible or just gives existing Solana minters another venue remains an open question.
The Explore page, meanwhile, is where the browsing happens. It's the entry point for anyone trying to figure out what's actually trading on the network.
The drop is live now, and the Claynosaurz page is open for browsing. The next test is whether Rarible can line up a steady run of Solana releases after the initial fanfare fades — and whether collectors actually show up to buy.
