Solana's tokenized assets hit a record $5.8 billion in the second quarter, according to the latest data. That's a 114% increase from the first quarter, when the figure stood at $2.7 billion. The surge marks the largest quarterly gain for the blockchain's real-world asset sector.
What drove the growth
The jump comes as more institutions and projects move tokenized securities, commodities, and stablecoins onto Solana's network. The platform's low fees and fast settlement times have made it a popular choice for tokenization. While the report doesn't name specific issuers, the broad trend mirrors a wider push by traditional finance to put assets like bonds and real estate on-chain.
Solana's total value locked in tokenized assets now accounts for a sizable chunk of the overall ecosystem. The 114% quarterly rise outpaces the growth seen in most other layer-1 blockchains during the same period. But the numbers don't include wrapped tokens or native DeFi protocols — only assets explicitly labeled as tokenized.
Price prediction: 9% chance of $90 in July
Separately, a prediction market suggests traders aren't betting heavily on a near-term price rally. The market gives Solana's native token, SOL, just a 9% probability of reaching $90 before the end of July. At current levels, that would require a roughly 15% gain in about three weeks.
The low odds reflect cautious sentiment even as the tokenized asset business booms. The prediction market aggregates bets from users, so the 9% figure represents actual capital being put on the line. It's a real-time snapshot of what the crowd expects, not a forecast from analysts.
Solana's price has been volatile this year, but the tokenized asset milestone shows the network's utility is expanding beyond simple crypto trading. Whether that translates into a higher token price in the short term remains an open question — one the prediction market suggests is unlikely.
The next quarterly report, due in October, will show whether the growth in tokenized assets can be sustained. For now, the $5.8 billion figure puts Solana in a league with a handful of other blockchains competing for the same institutional business.
