StoneX Lifts Securitize Price Target 50% on Tokenized Stocks Revenue

StoneX raised its price target for Securitize (SECZ) by 50% on Thursday, moving the stock from $12 to $18. The upgrade follows the launch of Securitize Stocks, a tokenized trading platform built on the Solana blockchain.

The new platform is expected to bring in revenue streams that weren't previously part of Securitize's business model. StoneX's analysts pointed to those streams as the main driver for the higher target.

What Securitize Stocks actually does

Securitize Stocks isn't just another crypto exchange. It tokenizes traditional equity shares, letting them trade on-chain via Solana. That means faster settlement, lower fees, and the ability to move shares around the clock — at least in theory. The platform handles the issuance and trading of these digital representations, which are backed one-to-one by actual shares held in custody.

The choice of Solana matters. It's a high-throughput blockchain known for cheap transactions and quick confirmation times. Those qualities make it a better fit for securities trading than slower, pricier networks. Securitize has been building on Solana for a while, but Securitize Stocks is the first product that directly ties that infrastructure to a revenue-generating trading venue.

Why StoneX bumped the target

The math is straightforward. Tokenized stocks open up a new fee pool: trading commissions, issuance fees, and possibly data services down the line. StoneX sees those as additive to Securitize's existing business, which has focused on tokenizing private assets like funds and pre-IPO shares. The public equity market is much bigger.

There's also the timing. Traditional finance is warming to blockchain-based settlement, and Securitize has a regulatory footprint that many crypto-native competitors lack. It's registered with the SEC and has transfer agent licenses. That gives it a head start when dealing with institutional clients who need compliance.

StoneX didn't provide specific revenue projections in the note, but the 50% target hike suggests they expect meaningful contribution in the near term. The stock currently trades well below the new target, implying the market hasn't fully priced in the platform's potential.

The regulatory tightrope

Tokenized stocks exist in a gray area. The SEC has been cautious about digital asset securities, though it has allowed some pilot programs. Securitize's approach — full backing by real shares and adherence to transfer agent rules — is designed to stay on the right side of that line. But the agency hasn't issued blanket approval for on-chain equity trading, and any shift in enforcement could slow things down.

Solana's own history adds another variable. The network has suffered outages in the past, which is a problem if you're settling trades that are supposed to be final. Securitize is betting that Solana's recent stability upgrades hold. If they don't, the platform's reliability — and its revenue — could take a hit.

What to watch next

Securitize hasn't disclosed how many shares have been tokenized so far or what trading volumes look like. Those numbers will be the first real test of whether StoneX's optimism is justified. The company is expected to report quarterly results in the coming weeks, and any mention of Securitize Stocks revenue will be closely watched.

Meanwhile, the broader tokenized securities space is heating up. Competitors are circling, and traditional exchanges are exploring similar offerings. Securitize's early lead on Solana gives it an edge, but keeping that edge will depend on execution — and on regulators staying comfortable with the model.
