Trump Media sold another 2,628 Bitcoin this week, worth over $165 million, as it continues to unwind its massive crypto bet. The sale brings the company's total Bitcoin losses to $555 million, according to data from the latest transfer to crypto.com.
The latest sale
The transfer, made to crypto.com, is the company's second major Bitcoin sale in three months. In May 2026, Trump Media sold 2,650 BTC for $205 million. This week's sale of 2,628 BTC fetched about $165 million — a lower dollar amount per coin, reflecting Bitcoin's slide since spring.
A costly bet
Trump Media originally bought 11,542 BTC for $1.37 billion, paying an average of $118,522 per coin. Since it started selling seven months ago, the company has offloaded 7,281 BTC at an average price of $74,855, generating $545 million. That's a steep discount from its purchase price, and the total realized and unrealized losses now sit at $555 million.
The entity is majority-owned by the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust.
Public companies hit pause
Trump Media isn't alone. A growing number of public companies have been selling Bitcoin holdings or pausing purchases as crypto markets stay under pressure. The trend suggests corporate treasuries that loaded up during the bull run are now cutting their losses — or at least trying to raise cash.
What's left
After this sale, Trump Media still holds roughly 4,261 BTC. The company hasn't said whether it plans to sell more or hold the rest. With Bitcoin trading well below its average cost, any further sales would lock in additional losses.
