Uniswap Builds Permissioned Pools for Regulated Funds with Superstate, Securitize, and Dowgo

Uniswap is developing permissioned trading pools designed for regulated funds and securities, marking a push to bring institutional capital into decentralized finance while staying within compliance boundaries. The project involves collaboration with Superstate, Securitize, and Dowgo, though the companies have not disclosed a launch date.

Compliance rules built into the pool

The framework allows regulated funds and securities to trade on Uniswap while enforcing the compliance rules that institutions require. That means only approved participants can access the pools, and trades will automatically check against regulatory requirements such as know-your-customer and anti-money laundering standards. The pools are separate from Uniswap’s public liquidity pools, which anyone can use without identity verification.

Why institutions have stayed away

Until now, most decentralized exchanges have operated without permissioned layers, making them risky for asset managers and funds that must follow strict securities laws. By adding a compliance wrapper, Uniswap and its partners aim to solve that problem. The move could open the door for tokenized money-market funds, private credit, and other regulated products to trade on a decentralized exchange without breaking the rules.

What the partners bring

Superstate, Securitize, and Dowgo each have a role in the effort. Superstate focuses on tokenizing traditional funds, Securitize handles the issuance and transfer of security tokens, and Dowgo provides compliance infrastructure. Together, they are building the rails that let a regulated fund trade on Uniswap while keeping the exchange itself decentralized.

Next steps

The permissioned pools are still in development. No timeline has been given for when they will go live. The companies have not said which specific funds or securities might be the first to trade on the new pools.
