Uniswap has rolled out a new 'Launches' beta tab in its web app, pulling together token launches from several supported launchpads. The feature, live now, aims to cut down the clutter users face when hunting for new tokens across social feeds, launchpad dashboards, DEX screens, and analytics tools.
What the Launches tab does
The tab aggregates token launches from launchpads including Bankr, Pons, and Long. Instead of jumping between platforms, users can see new offerings in one place. The move comes as the number of token launches explodes — over 340,000 tokens were reportedly launched on Robinhood Chain in July 2024 alone.
Uniswap says the feature is separate from its v4 fee-switch story. It's focused purely on improving the token discovery experience for traders.
Right now, finding a new token often means bouncing between Twitter, Telegram, launchpad sites, and decentralized exchange interfaces. That fragmentation can slow down traders and make it easy to miss opportunities. Uniswap's Launches tab tries to be a single front door, reducing the number of steps between hearing about a token and trading it.
The company is positioning the feature as part of a broader strategy to become a more complete entry point for on-chain trading. That puts it in direct competition with dedicated launchpads, aggregators, and social trading tools that also try to capture user attention early in the token lifecycle.
UNI token sees a bump
UNI, Uniswap's governance token, reportedly hit a six-month high above $4.50 and rose sharply in July 2024. The price move coincided with the Launches feature and broader market activity, though the company hasn't attributed the rise directly to the new tab.
The Launches beta is available now on Uniswap's web app. It's unclear whether the company plans to expand the feature to mobile or add more launchpads in the coming weeks.
