Uniswap Launches Token Discovery Tab, UNI Hits 6-Month High

Uniswap rolled out a new 'Launches' tab in beta on its Web App this week, giving users a single feed to discover top token offerings from launchpads. The move comes as UNI, the protocol's native token, hit $4.54 — a six-month high — after a 13% daily gain and a 60% monthly surge. Robinhood Chain is the first network featured in the tab, with more expected to follow.

What the Launches tab does

The tab pulls tokens from launchpads like Bankr, Pons, and Long into one place. Users can filter by 24-hour volume, liquidity, recently debuted, or trending. Over 340,000 new tokens launched into Uniswap across Robinhood launchpads in July 2024, generating $3.6 billion in trading volume that month. The idea is to cut through the noise — instead of hunting across different platforms, traders get a curated stream.

UNI burn and price action

On July 29, 2024, 106,000 UNI tokens were burned, part of the protocol's ongoing fee-switch mechanism. That burn, combined with the Launches tab announcement, helped push UNI to its highest level in six months. The token's 60% monthly gain is the strongest since early 2025, though the broader market has been choppy.

v4 fee debate heats up

Not everyone is celebrating. The Uniswap v4 fee structure is under renewed scrutiny, with some community members worried that reduced returns for liquidity providers could hurt participation. Founder Hayden Adams pushed back, clarifying that the proposed 5 basis point protocol fee on a 30 bp pool works out to about 14% of total swap fees — not the 25% some feared. He argued that's still far below the 100-200 bp fees centralized exchanges charge. The debate isn't settled, and a formal vote on v4 parameters is expected in the coming weeks.

Scam warnings persist

Uniswap's popularity also makes it a target. Earlier this year, a fake Uniswap website drained at least $400,000 from crypto wallets. Security group SEAL blocked over 356 malicious Google Ads URLs impersonating Uniswap and other platforms. Uniswap was the most impersonated protocol, accounting for 41% of tracked malicious sites. Losses from these campaigns exceeded $1.27 million between March 13 and March 30, 2024. The team has since stepped up warnings, but the fake ads keep coming.

Next up: the v4 fee vote and whether more networks will join the Launches tab. Uniswap hasn't named the next chain, but the infrastructure is ready.
