WEEX Signs LALIGA Partnership for Taiwan and Hong Kong Crypto-Football Push

WEEX, the crypto exchange serving over 6.2 million users, has inked a regional partnership with LALIGA, the top Spanish football league, covering Taiwan and Hong Kong. The deal, announced this week, positions WEEX as an official regional partner with plans to run campaigns and fan interactions that bridge crypto trading and football culture.

Partnership scope and fan engagement

The agreement includes regional campaigns, fan interactions, and community-driven initiatives designed to integrate crypto trading into mainstream sports culture. LALIGA brings a massive global audience—over 240 million social media followers across 16 platforms in 20 languages. WEEX, founded in 2018, offers more than 2,000 trading pairs and up to 400x leverage on futures, operating in 150-plus countries.

What the executives said

Andrew Weiner, WEEX's COO, pointed to shared values between crypto traders and football fans, though he didn't elaborate on specific crossover mechanics. Jorge de la Vega, Managing Director of LALIGA, said the partnership strengthens the league's strategy of working with innovative global brands. Neither side gave a timeline for the first activations.

WEEX's reach and LALIGA's global footprint

WEEX serves users across 150 countries, but this deal is geographically focused—Taiwan and Hong Kong only. For LALIGA, it's another regional tie-up in Asia, where the league already has offices in 11 locations worldwide, with headquarters in Madrid. The partnership doesn't cover LALIGA's GENUINE competition for players with intellectual disabilities, which was mentioned in the release but not part of the commercial scope.

The first campaigns are expected to roll out later this year, though WEEX and LALIGA haven't revealed specific dates or formats. For now, the deal is a bet that football's fan energy and crypto's trading culture can feed each other—at least in two small but key markets.
