XRP is stuck in neutral. The token trades around $1.08, below all its major moving averages, and momentum indicators sit at zero — a sign the market has no clear direction. Analysts watching the charts see a near-term target of $1.03 to $1.05 if selling pressure resumes.
Price action and technicals
XRP has been sliding for weeks. It now sits under the 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages — a configuration traders call a bearish alignment. The Relative Strength Index and other momentum gauges are flat at zero, meaning neither buyers nor sellers have seized control. That kind of frozen state often precedes a sharp move, but the direction is anyone's guess.
The $1.08 level has held for now, but volume is thin. Without a catalyst, the path of least resistance points lower. The $1.03–$1.05 zone is the next major support. A break below that could open the door to $0.95 or worse.
What bulls need to see
For a recovery to start, XRP needs a daily close above $1.11. That's the first hurdle. Above that, the token would face resistance at $1.15 and then the 50-day moving average near $1.20. A close above $1.11 would signal that buyers are willing to step in at current levels. Without it, the downtrend stays intact.
The broader crypto market isn't helping. Bitcoin has been range-bound, and altcoins are mostly following suit. XRP's own legal overhang with the SEC still lingers, though the case has moved into a quieter phase. That leaves traders focused on the charts.
Downside risk
If XRP fails to hold $1.05, the next stop is $1.03 — a level that acted as resistance in October and could flip to support. Below that, the token would be in territory not seen since early November. The lack of buying interest is the biggest concern. Volume has dried up, and open interest in futures has declined.
Some traders are already positioning for a drop. Put options at $1.00 have seen increased activity. But the market is small enough that a single large buy order could change the picture quickly.
For now, XRP is in a waiting game. The question is whether bulls can push the price above $1.11 before sellers drive it to $1.03.
