Editorial policy & standards
This page sets out the standards GFdaily holds its reporting to and the process we use when something we've published needs to be corrected.
How an article is produced
- Source aggregation. Our newsroom monitors primary sources continuously: exchange announcements, regulator filings, company press releases, on-chain data, established crypto media, and project documentation.
- Story selection. An editor decides which stories warrant coverage based on materiality to the market, reader interest, and how well-sourced the underlying facts are.
- Drafting from facts. Articles are built from the facts in the underlying sources, not from speculation or from the writer's prior knowledge. Quotes and statistics must come from a named source.
- Quality screening. Each draft is checked for originality, depth, and readability before it can be queued for publication. Drafts that fail are revised.
- Editorial review. An editor reviews the article for accuracy, framing, and adherence to our standards before it goes live.
- Translation. Once approved in the source language, the article is translated into the other languages we publish in. Translations preserve facts and source links.
What we will not publish
- Quotes or statements attributed to people who did not say them.
- Statistics or market data without a verifiable source.
- Speculation presented as fact.
- Promotional copy disguised as editorial coverage.
Source standards
We prioritise primary sources over secondary reporting. Where we cite another publication, we link to it. Where we report an official statement, we link to the source. Numbers — prices, market caps, volumes — are pulled live from our market-data provider rather than retyped, so they cannot drift from real values.
Corrections and complaints
If you spot a factual error, please contact us through our contact page with a link to the article and a description of the issue. Verified corrections are made promptly and an updated timestamp appears on the article. Significant changes are noted at the foot of the article.
Independence and conflicts of interest
Editorial decisions are made independently of any cryptocurrency project, exchange, custodian, or sponsor. GFdaily does not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage. Where sponsored content appears it is clearly labelled as such and is held to the same factual standard as editorial content. Members of the editorial team disclose material holdings to prevent reporting on assets in which they have a meaningful position.
