Rupture, a self-taught artist born in Switzerland in 1993 and based in Mexico City, has released a new series that binds physical paintings to Bitcoin ordinals in a way that forces a brutal choice. The four hybrid works in the Remains series each carry an inscription of exactly 210,000 pixels — the number of blocks in a Bitcoin halving epoch. Starting at the next halving in April 2028, one pixel will die per block mined, unless the collector retrieves a hidden code by destroying part of the painting.
