Cash App Adds XRP, Solana, Ether and USDT via Moonpay Integration

Cash App users can now buy XRP, Solana, Ether, and USDT through a new integration with Moonpay, giving the payment app's 59 million customers access to four major tokens for the first time. The move marks the first time Block, Cash App's parent company, has offered these assets on its platform — though they arrive via a third-party service, not a direct listing.

What the integration adds

The new Moonpay integration lets Cash App users purchase XRP, Solana, Ether, and the stablecoin USDT directly inside the app. Until now, Cash App only supported Bitcoin and a handful of other assets, and Block had never listed these four tokens on its own. The integration effectively bypasses that barrier, letting users trade them without leaving Cash App's interface.

Why Block went the third-party route

Block has never listed XRP, Solana, Ether, or USDT directly on Cash App. The company has been selective about which assets it adds, and regulatory questions around some of these tokens have kept them off the platform. Instead of adding them itself, Block tapped Moonpay, a crypto payments firm that already handles similar integrations for other wallets and exchanges. That lets Cash App offer the tokens without taking on the direct custody or compliance burden.

Paying with Cash App Pay

Funding the new purchases is straightforward: Cash App has integrated Cash App Pay as a payment method for the crypto buys. That means users can draw from their existing Cash App balance to buy the tokens, rather than wiring money or linking a separate bank account. It's a frictionless setup for the app's existing user base, which already uses Cash App for everyday payments.

For the 59 million people on Cash App, the integration opens up a broader crypto menu without having to open a separate exchange account. XRP and Solana have both seen steady demand from retail traders, and USDT gives users a dollar-pegged option for parking funds. Whether that translates into meaningful volume is another question — but the option is now there, and it's live as of this week.

The integration is already rolling out. It's not clear yet whether Block will eventually list these tokens directly on Cash App, or if Moonpay will remain the permanent bridge. Either way, the app's users no longer have to look elsewhere for these four assets.
