China has opened its largest artificial intelligence industrial park in Ulanqab, a desert city in Inner Mongolia, betting that renewable energy and vast open space can power the next wave of AI development. Why a Desert for AI?
The concept of desert computing is straightforward: use remote, arid regions to house data centers that can tap into abundant solar and wind power.
