The 0G network's next scheduled token unlock arrives July 22, releasing 3.12 million tokens — 0.3% of total supply and roughly 1% of current market cap. The event follows a June unlock that preceded a 23.8% price slide over the following ten days.
A smaller unlock, but same pressure points
June's unlock was 3.9% of market cap, making July's release smaller in relative terms. Still, the same risks apply: recipients may sell into thin order books, especially during off-hours when liquidity is low. The network's tokenomics don't yet generate significant fees or token sinks, so the new supply could weigh on price unless demand picks up.
What the network is building
0G reports more than 400 integrations across over 350 projects, with storage and compute as the most relied-on layers. The network also added native support for ERC-8004 'Trustless Agents' in June, including merged IdentityRegistry and ReputationRegistry addresses. These features aim to create verifiable usage that could eventually drive token demand.
Signals to watch
Key metrics for the unlock include: where the tokens go (exchange deposits vs. staking), order book depth and open interest on major trading pairs, node operator revenues and utilization rates, and whether ERC-8004 workloads gain traction. Demand for 0G is defined as consistent, verifiable usage that generates fees or incentivizes holding and operating network resources.
The July unlock will test whether that demand is materializing fast enough to absorb the new supply.
