Arbitrum's native token, ARB, has slipped below the $0.09 mark, trading at $0.08255 as of the latest data. The move comes amid a complete lack of upward momentum, with sell orders continuing to dominate the order books.
Price action stalls
The token hasn't seen a meaningful bounce in recent sessions. Volume is thin, and buyers have been reluctant to step in at current levels. The $0.09 floor, which had held for several weeks, gave way without a fight. Market participants describe the action as listless — no sharp drops, just a slow grind lower.
ARB's slide reflects broader weakness across the altcoin space, but the token's own fundamentals aren't helping. The project's governance activity has quieted, and there's been no major protocol upgrade or partnership announcement to reignite interest.
What's behind the selling
Sell-side pressure has been building for weeks. Large holders, often referred to as whales, have been steadily reducing positions. On-chain data shows a net outflow from exchanges, but that hasn't translated into accumulation — instead, tokens are moving to cold storage or being sold over the counter.
Retail traders, meanwhile, are sitting on the sidelines. The lack of volatility means there's little incentive to open new positions. One trader described the market as “dead” — a term that's been used more frequently in ARB-focused Telegram groups.
No catalyst in sight
Without a fresh narrative or a technical breakout, the path of least resistance remains lower. The next support level is around $0.075, a zone that held during the broader market dip in early March. If that breaks, the token could test the $0.07 area.
On the upside, any move back above $0.09 would require a significant shift in sentiment — something that isn't visible in the current data. The Relative Strength Index is hovering near oversold territory, but that alone hasn't been enough to spark a reversal.
Traders are watching for any catalyst — a new Arbitrum ecosystem project, a governance vote, or a broader market rally — that could break the inertia. For now, the token remains stuck in a low-volume drift.
