Bitcoin Long-Term Holder Supply Hits Record 14.8 Million BTC

Bitcoin long-term holders have pushed their collective stash to an all-time high. The supply held by investors who've kept their coins for more than 155 days now sits at 14.8 million BTC. That's a record, and it comes after a notable dip late last year.

The record in context

The long-term holder supply fell during the second half of 2025. It bottomed out in February 2026, then began climbing again. The climb didn't stop until it broke past the old high and set a new one this week. The metric counts coins that haven't moved in at least 155 days — a threshold widely used to separate true holders from traders.

What the 155-day lag means

The recent uptrend shows a growing tendency to hold. But it's not the same as saying people are piling in right now. The 155-day delay between a purchase and when that coin registers as long-term held means the current record reflects buying that happened months ago. If someone bought last November, that coin only entered the long-term bucket this week. So the record is a lagging signal of conviction, not a snapshot of today's demand.

Where prices stand

Bitcoin is trading around $80,700 and moving sideways. The price hasn't surged alongside the holder supply. That's partly because the metric tracks existing coins aging, not new money flooding in. Still, a rising long-term supply typically means fewer coins available to sell — a supply squeeze that could matter if demand picks up.

The next question is whether holders keep their grip. If the price stays flat, some may get impatient. But for now, the data says the longest-term crowd is holding tighter than ever.
