Ethereum ETFs saw $70.7 million in outflows this week, with BlackRock leading the charge. The withdrawals come as ETH faces renewed selling pressure from both ETF exits and rising exchange inflows, threatening to undo its recent price gains.
BlackRock's big exit
BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, was the primary driver of the outflows. The firm's Ethereum ETF saw the heaviest withdrawals among all issuers. The move signals that even institutional players are turning cautious on ETH's near-term prospects.
Pressure on price
The outflows aren't happening in a vacuum. Ethereum is also seeing increased inflows to exchanges, a sign that holders may be preparing to sell. Combined, these forces are challenging the recovery ETH has staged over the past few weeks. The timing isn't great — the broader market had been hoping for a sustained uptrend.
With BlackRock pulling back, the question is whether other ETF issuers will follow. The next few trading sessions will show if the outflows accelerate or stabilize. For now, Ethereum's path higher just got steeper.
