Ethereum is climbing back toward $2.55K after buyers stepped in to defend the $2.36K–$2.42K demand zone, keeping the asset inside its broader ascending channel. The recovery leaves ETH above both its 100-day moving average near $2.24K and its 200-day moving average around $2.14K, preserving a bullish crossover that has been in place through the recent pullback.
The move matters because it keeps the larger rising structure intact. But the bounce has a ceiling to clear before it can be called anything more than a rebound.
The $2.66K–$2.74K wall
The main nearby resistance sits in the $2.66K–$2.74K supply zone. ETH has already tested that area once on the advance to $2.7K, then corrected to $2.5K. Reclaiming the band would open the door to a challenge of the recent $2.8K high and, beyond that, the $2.9K–$3K region. Until then, the zone is the line that separates a recovery from a genuine continuation.
What the 4-hour chart shows
On the 4-hour chart, ETH rebounded after briefly piercing the $2.43K–$2.48K demand zone and the lower ascending trendline. It's back above that floor but still below the middle trendline of the rising structure — a detail worth watching, because the middle line has acted as a pivot through the channel.
Holding the reclaimed trendline around $2.49K–$2.5K would support a continuation toward $2.6K. Losing it sets up another test of the $2.43K–$2.48K demand zone. A breakdown below $2.4K would expose the $2.22K–$2.28K area, which sits just above the 100-day moving average.
Order flow stays retail-sized
Spot average order size data shows predominantly normal-sized orders during both the advance to $2.7K and the correction to $2.5K. Whale-sized orders, which were frequent during the June–August base, haven't visibly returned. That's a notable absence. The move higher so far has been built on ordinary flow, not large buyers stepping back in.
Whether that changes on a push into the $2.66K–$2.74K supply zone is the next thing to watch. If large orders stay away, the resistance band is more likely to hold. If they show up, the recent $2.8K high comes back into play.
Levels to watch from here
The immediate trigger is the $2.49K–$2.5K reclaimed trendline. A hold keeps $2.6K in view. A loss redirects attention to $2.43K–$2.48K. Below $2.4K, the $2.22K–$2.28K region is the next meaningful floor. Above, $2.66K–$2.74K is the gate to $2.8K and then $2.9K–$3K.
For now, ETH sits between a defended demand zone and an untested supply band, with the bullish moving-average crossover still doing its job underneath.
