Kraken Adds Native USDC Support on Injective Blockchain

Kraken Adds Native USDC Support on Injective Blockchain

Kraken has started supporting native USDC on the Injective blockchain, the exchange announced. The move gives users direct access to the stablecoin on Injective, a layer-1 network built for decentralized finance.

What the integration means

USDC is a widely used stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar. By adding native support on Injective, Kraken lets customers deposit and withdraw USDC directly on that chain. Previously, users who wanted to move USDC to or from Injective had to bridge through another network, which added steps and cost.

The change simplifies on-chain trading and tokenization. Injective is designed for cross-chain derivatives, spot trading, and asset tokenization. Having native USDC means traders can use the stablecoin without extra hops, potentially lowering fees and settlement times.

Injective is a Cosmos-based blockchain that focuses on decentralized exchange functionality. It already supports several assets, but stablecoins are critical for liquidity. With Kraken now offering native USDC, users on the exchange can move funds directly into Injective-based applications. This could boost activity on protocols built on Injective, such as its native DEX or tokenization platforms.

Kraken has been expanding its network support for USDC. The exchange already supports the stablecoin on Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, and other chains. Adding Injective is part of that broader push.

How it works

Kraken users can now deposit USDC from an Injective wallet address or withdraw USDC to one. The process is similar to other native token transfers on the exchange. No additional bridging or wrapping is required. The stablecoin remains in its native form throughout the transaction.

This integration comes as Injective continues to grow its ecosystem. The network has seen increased activity in recent months, with more projects launching on it. Native USDC availability could make it easier for those projects to attract liquidity from Kraken's user base.

Kraken did not disclose specific transaction limits or fees for the new support. Users should check the exchange's deposit and withdrawal pages for current details.
