Polymarket Odds Show 99.95% Chance Bitcoin Stays Above $54,000

Bitcoin has clawed back to around $66,000 after a sharp dip near $58,500 on June 30. The recovery has been swift enough that Polymarket bettors now assign a 99.95% probability to Bitcoin staying above $54,000 — a level that looked shaky just three weeks ago.

Polymarket's near-certain bet

The prediction market's odds are essentially a rounding error away from certainty. For a contract that pays out if Bitcoin is above $54,000 at a future date, 99.95% implies the market sees almost no chance of a sub-$54,000 print. That's a strong vote of confidence from the crowd that got the 2024 election and the 2025 tariff shock right.

Options and funding signal bullish turn

Options skew has widened, meaning puts are getting cheaper relative to calls — a classic sign that traders are less worried about downside. At the same time, perpetual funding rates have turned positive. When funding is positive, longs pay shorts, which usually happens when the market is leaning bullish and leverage is flowing in. The combination suggests the dip was bought aggressively.

The Fed factor

The late-July Federal Reserve meeting is the next big macro event on the calendar. Markets are pricing in a hold, but any dovish surprise could give risk assets another leg up. Bitcoin's recent price action — the quick V-shaped recovery, the positive funding, the skewed options — all point to a market that's already positioning for that outcome. The timing isn't bad: the dip happened just before month-end, and the rebound has been orderly.

Whether the Fed delivers or not, the Polymarket odds show that the floor under Bitcoin has hardened. The question now is whether the rally can hold above $66,000 into the meeting.
